1897 Wood Engraving Charles Keene Punch Art Lavinia Brounjones Shepherd XAY6 XGJB3 " This is an originalThis is an original 1897 black and white wood engraving of Miss Lavinia Brounjones being carried across a waterfall in Scotland by a non English speaking Gaelic shepherd who must have misunderstood Lavinia when she asked him the name of the falls. The Brounjones series was one of the only Keene ever had published in Punch, which effectively illustrated his method of crafting a story. The original piece was featured in the British magazine in 1866.
